Well, Mrs. Ttyymmnn, actually. She knows how to push my buttons.

Kinja'd!!!

The journey of 1158 pieces begins with one step.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Update 1

Making progress. This is about 85% of the way through Bags 1. Very clever the way they designed the angled intakes on the side. It’s also fun to see how they repurpose parts, such as the headrests. I’m going to finish the first bags and then do the rest tomorrow. Interestingly, they give you the two gauges pre-printed, but you have to put that tiny Prancing Horse on the steering wheel yourself.

Update 2

Bags 1 complete. Roof, windshield on. Note the shifter and pedals. What?? No clutch??

I am! My son is blazing through the set he got, but I'll be a day or two on this. And I've also got the latest F1 transporter to build from my birthday back in November.

Merry Christmas, Jcarr. I've got my coffee and I'll be busy for a while.

You could knock that out in 8 hours. Uninterrupted hours, of course, and good luck getting those.

Lemme guess... she picked out the curtains, right?

:-)

Enjoy your gift! Merry Christmas

I like to take my time and savor it. There were three or four bags number 1, and I'll likely finish those and leave bags number 2 for tomorrow.

Actually, I did. We'll be remodeling the kitchen soon. But not soon enough. I'm sick of country. We're going modern.

I did the big Technic Mercedes AROC a few weeks back. It has bags numbered 1-7, and I did a numbered section a night for several nights in a row, and then finished up on a saturday morning.

You’re going to love the F40 set. It’s a really great build

It will go along with my F430 Challenge and Lambo police car.

It does look very country... but that’s not a bad thing.

I had the 430 Challenge set. It was awesome. Is that the one where it had the stand activated on the inside?

Yup. I built it in yellow, but I wish I had built it in red. I’ve still got all the red pieces somewhere, though.

The wallpaper is original to when we bought the house 15 years ago. I don’t dislike country per se, but it’s time for a change.

My oldest son got a set for Christmas, and he blazed through it as fast as he could. I enjoy building these, so I like to take as long as possible. It also gives me a chance to appreciate how friggin’ brilliant these Lego designers are.

Very nice - one of our cats steals small plastic things and hides them, so I can’t have one.

The fit on the various parts, particularly how the roof meets the windshield, is damned impressive. There are some details I prefer on the F430, but so far, I think the F40 is a tighter design.

These are various sizes of lunchmeat packages, and some small glass bowls for the smaller pieces. My wife always gets frustrated when we’re all building something because there’s no more tupperware in the house. I also like to pull all the individual pieces for each step to make sure I don’t forget something. This set has something like 83 steps, and I don’t want to have to go back to step 4 to fix a mistake!
